Our Team

Immanuel Lutheran Church is currently involved in the Call Process to find a new Pastor. Pastor Ann Sundberg presided over Immanuel Lutheran Church for 12 years before retiring in July 2023. Sunday Services at Immanuel are currently being led by the following supply Pastors who are providing Communion during worship services until a full time Pastor is in place.

Pastor Dan Johnson. Currently, Pastor Dan is being called as the Director of the Pine Ridge Reconciliation Center on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation.  He is a 3rd career Pastor, previously having been an engineer and a sales representative.  He and his wife live on the reservation with 4 rescue dogs. Pastor Dan also provides worship with communion every Weds for our members at Prairie Pines Lodge in Chadron, NE

Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker:  Pastor Dwayne and his wife, Kathleen, live in Buffalo Gap, SD.  Pastor Dwayne retired in 2017 after 40 years of being a pastor.  He has served as a pastor in Lodgepole, Chappell, Kimball, North Platte, and Cozad.  His last assignment was at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hot Springs, SD

Rev. Karen Rupp:  Rev. Karen and her husband Paul live in Rushville, where they are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Karen is the retired director of the Pine Ridge Retreat Center in Pine Ridge, SD.

Rev. Patricia Stetson-Warning:  Rev. Pat is a retired PCUSA Minister of Word and Sacrament. She pastored PCUSA congregations in Peoria IL and in Gordon, NE. She was a Registered Nurse for 32 years prior to that. She and her husband John reside in Crawford and caretake the Stetson Family Homestead Ranch. She also has a private practice for Spiritual Direction.
